Hi guys and gals, I'm back again with another post about how and why people worship her. Make sure to check out my amazing information from the "SITES" page. Also, don't forget to subscribe to my sisters YouTube channel. Totally different then the Greek Gods we are talking about here, maybe she will give you some makeup tips on how to look like a Greek god!! now lets talk about Aphrodite !! She controlled many different realms. Many different city's worshiped her and that meant that one single city had multiple shrines. Archeologists found an outrageous, marble bass-relif. This bas-relif has Aphrodite and lots of Greek Worshipers. a picture of the bass-relif is included below. Also, every year the greeks throw a festival called The Adonia Festival. This festival is celebrated to worship Aphrodite's beloved Adonis. Adonis passed away young and very tragically. In Athens, only women celebrated this festival. This ritual re-enacted both Adonis's potential and his passing, letting the devotees to surpass Aphrodite's experience.
Ever since I could read, I have always love greek gods and godesses. I also chose this subject because I dont have a lot of experience with aphrodite and would love to learn more about her. Also, Aphrodite being the godess of love and beauty just pulled me right in like a fish on a rod. Social Studies has recently become my favorite class, because of our teacher and mostly because all of the courses always have some sort of fun in them. Greece has been the best part of this years Social Studies. Since I loved Greek gods and goddesses I have decided to research a few. This blog is particularly about Aphrodite, the Greek goddess. I plan on answering these key questions which are: Who is Aphrodite? Who is her family?, How and Why do people worship her?, and What does Aphrodite do? Does she help anyone? I will mainly focus on her family, and how people worship her. Thank you and don't forget to give feedback!
